1. Advisory to AAS in capacity building for LGAs and co-ordination of the resulting work in this technical area;

2. Support to each LGA in review of its opportunities and obstacles to development;

3. Preparation of the section's draft capacity building proposals arising from the O&OD proces;

4. Interpretation and issuance guidelines on advice to LGAs and other organisations relating to to this technical support;

5. Support LGAs in development of interventions to address the opportunities and obstacles identified to be included in the RS ARSIPs;

6. Monitoring and evaluation of the impact of specialist expertise to support capacity building in LGAs;

7. Monitoring the implementation of central government policies by LGAs as directed by AAS;

8. Preparation of annual regional profiles and statistical abstracts;

9. Conduction and preparation of a report on data collection and statistical surveys for the region to be incorperated in the region-wide report to the Regional Consultative Committee (RCC);

10. Carring out any other delegated duties from central ministries, as directed by the AAS.
